Lines In My Head

A recent trend in the social media world had netizens creating a list of their favorite stuff and then tagging their peers to do the same. One of the more popular category was movies and a nice example of such a list is this  post  (you owe me some views, C!). While I'm not a huge bigscreen guy, I can say I have my own share of flicks that have stuck with me throughout the years. Some are critically acclaimed and award-winning; others are just plain and average; but most are just hilarious, nonsense motion pictures that are included just because I thoroughly enjoyed watching them. My sacred list starts on the next page. I've also included IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings for each movie because I'd like to think the films I watch are of high quality. Or not.

One random morning, C asked me details (specifically the title and the author) about a certain spy book she read a while back while staying at our place. I replied that I could only recall the title (World's Greatest Spies and Spymasters) but the author's name evaded me. Okay my love, she said. Later that day, I would discover the purpose for her query. The title was to be part of her yearly post chronicling all the books she finished during the course of one year (I still owe C, the author's name, by the way). Year-end categorized listings. Hmm, a good idea for a blog post, I thought. Here then are various stuff that I thoroughly enjoyed for the past year. Lists are in no particular order. Movies, TV Series, and Anime: 1. For the past week or so, and for some odd reason, I've been really enamored and engrossed on watching a bunch of foreign movies that are categorized under the romance/comedy/drama spectrum. I think it has something to do with the Christmas-y feeling in the air especially with the holiday season this year being extra special for me (oh yeah!). Or on more practical terms, maybe it's because I just want to actually watch these movies that I downloaded instead of just letting them rot and take up precious space in my filthy, old hard drive. Heh. I really am a sucker though for these type of movies especially those that were somehow designed to recreate the teary-eyed instances of someone chopping an onion or someone letting out a big yawn. Almost every time, these lot of heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, and stomach-knotting scenes lead to a fierce, grueling battle between my heroic stand to resist the urge to weep like a little girl against that swelling pile of emotions deep ins...
