Late post: Gastronomy and Granada Getaways

Hello again, world of blogging. I haven't written anything in this space for quite some time (the last being a melodramatic post about Valentine's Day) so I thought of updating my current adventures and whereabouts (not that anyone reading this actually cares) for the last two months or so.

A recent project that was launched in Cebu gave me the opportunity to visit C more frequently and of course (what else?), discover interesting food spots with her. We simply love to eat and boast about it (if you've been following our Instagram accounts, then I'm sure you've seen the countless degustation pictures we've uploaded). For this post though, I will be detailing our awesome and relaxing little trip down south to the quiet town of Granada (there will be a section about food, don't worry, guys!).

Note: All photos courtesy of C's photo editing skillz.

Anyway, if Granada Beach House sounds familiar, it's because we originally planned on visiting the place last year but due to repairs on their water system at that time, our reservations had to be cancelled (we ended up finding unexpected awesomeness here and here). This year, though, armed with a free extra night of stay (as compensation for the previous year's mishaps), we decided to re-visit the place and happily hopped into one of those yellow Liloan-bound bus.
We are not excited. At all.
Trip lasted the usual 4 hours (passing by some already familiar town names for me, yay!) highlighted by some gruesome and action-packed movie scenes between an alien and a predator. Devoid of any familiar landmarks, we got off a few hundred (?) meters early from the resort's entrance thus testing the indomitable stamina of our feeble legs. (Sidenote: C noted how the Cebuano language was quite different in this part of the province and how she couldn't understand some of the terms. Hmmm. Interesting.). A rocky trail soon followed and after a bunch of huffing and puffing, we were treated to this sight:

Beautifuuuul.
Our arrival coincided with snack time so we decided to grab a much-needed bite at the resort's own restaurant. Needless to say, someone was very happy to see...

...burgers and fries!
Considering Granada Beach House was such a secluded place, we were utterly impressed (and surprised) by how delightful these burger and fries tasted. We would find out later that this was only the "tip of the iceberg" in terms of the astronomic gastronomy (oh, good one!) we would experience during our stay here.(Not pictured: The mandatory calamari for every trip)

After the hearty treat for snacks, we proceeded to investigate the confines of this lovely place and oh boy, there were many Instagram-able spots here. Let's start with the swimming pool...

I wanna swim. Gaaaah!
...seawater splashing on the cliffside...

Careful!
...Clancy enjoying the hammock and the sight of the beach (though it isn't really tailored for swimming)...
Clancy, Y U so adorable?!
...and a Spanish baluarte (which seems so common in this area as I remember seeing one too back in Eden Resort).
The lovely shot from atop the tower.
While we dedicated a checkbox for butanding watching/swimming for this trip's itinerary, it was ultimately left unmarked leading to what could be regarded as the "laziest resort stay ever". Eat. Sleep. Swim. Repeat. No complaining from us especially when we're indulging in memorable treats like this...

C's fave bobotie and that brownie to die for.
...or munching these sumptuous free breakfasts...

Egg variations.
...or wasting away our time through pool selfies...

Silly couple being silly.
...or just simply enjoying the relaxing atmosphere around here.

Eternal bliss. Sounds like a magic spell.
Three days of pure nothingness passed by quickly and soon enough, we found ourselves packing our bags and readying ourselves for the drive back to the city. But first...

The modern magic of S4.
And our cute little happy camper!

"Let's go back here, Papa and Mama!"
Oh yes, Clancy. We will absolutely visit Granada Beach house again.
