RAW 1000!

WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) recently held its 1000th (!) episode of Monday Night Raw and oh boy, it was such a blast from the past especially for someone like me who has been following this sports-entertainment industry for the last 15 years or so. "RAW 1000" delivered a hell of a show as it showcased a horde of legends (The Rock, DX, Bret Hart, Taker, Brock Lesnar, Lita, APA, and more) interacting with the current crop of superstars (which I found really cool), progressed existing and created new storylines (Jericho-Ziggler, Miz-Christian, AJ Lee as GM), and created a wicked angle at the end (Punk-Rock!). So many 'mark out' moments and despite the wrestling industry being scripted and all, episodes like this remind me of why I was a wrestling fan to begin with: entertaining, exciting and fun! Looking forward to more holy sh!t moves, 'this is awesome' chants, heel and face turns, return of stables, epic pay-per-views, and doses of nostalgia. If you're a wrestling fan, this episode is a definite must-watch!

August has always been a special month for me because of one obvious reason - it's that one day of the year where Facebook notifies my friends about an increment in my age. Yes, it's a special day but in terms of celebrations, I'd say that for the last couple of years, it's been hovering between lackluster and predictable. Mostly it's been lunch outs with the family or drinks with the boys or dinner dates. While this year wasn't entirely different, I'd say it was an interesting one due to the arrival of a new person and the departure of a dear one *sobs*. Oh, and there are the old reliables, of course. Those random movie lists

A recent trend in the social media world had netizens creating a list of their favorite stuff and then tagging their peers to do the same. One of the more popular category was movies and a nice example of such a list is this  post  (you owe me some views, C!). While I'm not a huge bigscreen guy, I can say I have my own share of flicks that have stuck with me throughout the years. Some are critically acclaimed and award-winning; others are just plain and average; but most are just hilarious, nonsense motion pictures that are included just because I thoroughly enjoyed watching them. My sacred list starts on the next page. I've also included IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings for each movie because I'd like to think the films I watch are of high quality. Or not.

Prologue It was a rainy Sunday morning when I trooped into the mall for a weekend rendezvous. Good thing I got into the mall just before the rain fell as my only protection from the downpour was my trusted red hoodie and its soft, fluffy fabric.
